Petey, now Gunner Hernandez, was adopted by the same amazing Navy family that adopted Domino from us few months back.

For those that are not familiar with his story, Gunner was rescued from Downey Animal Care and Control Center a couple of months ago. He was covered in blood, shaking in the corner and looked miserable when we first met him. We knew that we needed to help him.

Gunner was horribly beaten and left with scars all over his beautiful head. He went trough so much pain and was trapped in fear. He didn’t trust humans at all. It seemed like the progress was going to come slow but we believed in Gunner and eventually he started to believe in us. We worked with him every day and slowly he was opening up. When we learned that one of our amazing adopters is interested to foster to adopt Gunner we were over the Moon.

After a couple of weeks of having Gunner at their home, the Hernandez family knew that Gunner belongs with them and adopted him.

He is doing fantastic now, getting more and more out of his shell, enjoys affection he gets from his parents and LOVES his older brother Domino. We are exited to visit them soon.
