It was magical.
We worked hard to put this night together, our very first fundraiser event, “A Night For Compassion”.
With the help of our partners, sponsors and friends, we created an extraordinary evening about compassion and connection.
We all came together in the name of animals, heard inspiring guest speakers, indulged in vegan delicacies, cocktails, great music, and a silent auction. People had the opportunity to meet our members and learn more about ISWMP’s life saving campaigns.
Our first special guest speaker was Darlyn A. Dezelan from the ASPCA, who spoke about horse slaughter in the U.S. and the importance of the SAFE Act. ISWMP will be working with incredible organizations such as the ASPCA towards passing the SAFE Act this year, in an effort to help prevent the slaughter and export of our nation’s horses.
We also had a special guest, Ryan Tate, the Co-Founder & President of VETPAW (Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife). Ryan spoke about saving endangered species, such as rhinos and elephants.
VETPAW promotes relationship building in East Africa, elevating the perception of the military at home and abroad while preventing the extinction of keystone species and ecosystems. ISWMP is honored to be able to assist such a fine organization, as well as the men and women that have served or still actively serve our country.
Next was special guest, Aaron S. Loucks from paintedgroup.com. An organization that brings complete management solutions to support rangers in high risk and complex landscape of protecting wildlife. ISWMP and Aaron will work closely this year to save dogs from high-kill and high intake animal shelters and will enroll them into a program called “A Dog’s Purpose”. We will train these dogs to become anti-poaching dogs and will send them to South Africa to protect our precious Rhinos.
Our final special guest was Roger Wolfson. Roger is the Commissioner for Animal Services for the city of Los Angeles. It was humbling to hear kind words in support of our organization coming from such important figures within the animal welfare movement. We felt truly honored to have such inspiring, committed and compassionate people speaking at our very first charity event.
Without our donors and sponsors, this event would have not been possible, therefore we would love to give a special thank you to all of you:
