I Stand With My Pack not only focuses on helping animals in Los Angeles County, but we also help animals in need globally.
As challenging and overwhelming as the situation is with homeless, abandoned and abused animals in the United States, it can be just as difficult, or even more difficult for animals in other parts of the world.
This is why ISWMP is committed to helping animals in places such as Korea and Puerto Rico, who often have no chance of finding a home, so we bring them to Los Angeles so they have the opportunity to find a home. Many times there are no or few shelter or adoption opportunities for these animals, so they have a very bleak future unless they are offered outside help. In some south east Asian and African countries, dog and cat meat is common, so life is especially hard for them.
Korean adoptions are important as there are very few or no opportunities for dogs to find homes, there are no animal rights law to protect homeless animals, so often they end up being killed in brutal dog slaughterhouses for human consumption. The animals we bring to LA from Puerto Rico are also in dire need of help, as Puerto Rico is home to over 500,000 homeless animals, who often are left to starve to death, be subject to cruel treatment, or simply live a hard life on the streets having litter after litter, as animal birth control in Puerto Rico is typically not provided and care for animals does not have a high standard here.
By working globally, we seek to offer help to those who may otherwise have none, and to serve as an example for the change we wish to see in the world for all sentient beings.
