On Saturday, February 10th, I Stand With My Pack partnered with The Canal Market in Venice to host a super fun Valentines themed adoption event. Hosted by the lovely Gabrielle and Sofia at The Canal Market, the event included a number of local vendors along with adoptable ISWMP pups and their fosters.
The turnout at this adoption event was beyond our expectations, with a steady crowd eager to meet the dogs and enjoy the festivities. One of the most popular elements was our Puppy Kissing Booth, where guests could take pictures with adorable ISWMP dogs for a small donation. People lined up for the chance to smooch a cute pooch and help out a good cause.
Along with the kissing booth, we had a number of our adoptable puppies and adult dogs at the event for people to meet. From tiny, scruffy Millie, to sleek, smiling Jolie, our dogs enjoyed love and attention from potential adopters and received lots of pets and treats. Our pit bull mix puppy siblings Betty, Barney, and Pebbles were especially popular! We were so impressed by the calm and social nature of our dogs considering the crowd.
In addition to the furry friends, the event also featured wine tasting with Rescue Rose, a local winery who donates a portion of their proceeds to dog rescues in Los Angeles. Other vendors included a delicious gluten-free bakery who treated our dogs to yummy pupcakes, a flower bar where people could create bouquets for their valentines, a vintage clothing boutique, and even a tattoo artist! Needless to say, sipping on a glass of wine while surrounded by wagging tails and creative people made for an excellent afternoon.
The superstars of the day were our ISWMP volunteers and fosters who gave their time and energy to ensure everything ran smoothly. From wrangling puppies to manning the kissing booth and merch tables, we could not have managed without the help of these loyal pack members.
We absolutely love pairing with businesses in the community to host events that help our dogs get seen and raise awareness of the plight of animals in the Los Angeles area.
