Saturday, March 25th was an absolute dream for us here at ISWMP.
Saving 20 American Bully XL dogs from a breeder seizure in Victorville was hands-down our largest rescue effort of 2022. This family of dogs, who we now call our American Bully Crew, pushed us to our limits and taught us the true meaning of resilience and forgiveness. Each of these amazing dogs, and their families, hold a special place in our hearts.
On Saturday, we all came together at the stunning Quail View Ranch to reunite this incredible group of dogs and it was an unreal experience. The generous donation of the venue by @quailviewranch, delicious goodies from @winterfatebakes and swag bags from @justfoodfordogs, made the day even more special.
The pups were so excited to see one another and it was very cool to watch their connections and little relationships develop throughout the day. Some wanted to chill in the shade and be pet and cuddled, while others wanted to race around and run through the streams and puddles on the ranch. Bullies Alder, Rupert, and Sequoia had an especially good time romping around as a trio. No matter what they chose to do, it was clear that these dogs were having the time of their lives!
It was also amazing to reconnect with our adopters and to hear all about their journey with their pups. It is evident that all of them treasure their dogs and are focused on giving them the best life possible. Every single one of our Bully Crew pups are happy, healthy, well-socialized, and living their very best lives with people who adore them. What more could we ask for as rescuers?
Working in rescue is hard, and we often see the lowest and darkest of the animal world, but this day was a physical manifestation of the good side of rescue – the very reason we continue to do what we do. Being able to see these pups again, and to see them interacting with their doggy family members, was something we will never forget.
We can’t wait for next year’s reunion!
