Last Sunday we hosted our 4th ISWMP Pack Walk Fundraiser at the always impressive Griffith Park Old Zoo Loop. The most rewarding hike yet! The sun was out, the birds were chirping, and the views were magical. Wanting to enhance our guests’ experience we added some tasty dog treats by ever so wonderful, Winter Fate Bakes. From her small-batch handcrafted recipes all of the dogs enjoyed a yummy post hike treat made from the freshest ingredients. 100% of sales went directly to the ISWMP Spay and Neuter Program. We are incredibly grateful for WInter’s commitment to and continued support of ISWMP.
One of the primary advantages to our Community Pack Walk Program is that they provide a safe and controlled environment for dogs and humans of all ages, sizes, abilities, experience levels, and temperaments to engage with each other and experience the outdoor beauty that is Los Angeles. This type of socialization helps your pup become more comfortable and confident around other dogs, reducing the likelihood of aggression, anxiety or fear-based behavior. Walking with other dogs is an excellent way for your canine to engage in natural and healthy behaviors like smelling, running, jumping, and exploring. Additionally, regular exercise can help reduce the risk of obesity and other health problems in dogs and humans alike. Who doesn’t love to be enveloped in joy and new adventures!
Something we enjoy seeing at every Pack Walk is the compassion and understanding of each guest. Some of the dogs that attend are very unsure of other dogs but with the right amount of space and communication from their guardian to other walkers we’ve seen many dogs blossom and actually show curiosity in greeting other dogs. We love our community!
We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again; ISWMP Pack Walk Fundraisers are an excellent way to keep your dogs fit, healthy, and well-socialized. It’s a fun and exciting way to exercise your pets while also providing them with mental stimulation and socialization.
