Meet Skippy!
Sweet, soulful, and absolutely adorable, Skippy is the kind of little dog who quietly steals your heart. This 1.5-year-old Long-Haired Chihuahua mix weighs just 11 pounds and has the softest beige-and-white coat, the cutest crimped ears, and a gentle spirit to match.
Skippy came to us as a stray after efforts to find his family were unsuccessful. He was understandably skittish at first, but once he realized he was safe, he began warming up beautifully to his foster family. He’s a sensitive little guy who picks up on the energy around him, so slow, gentle introductions are important. But give him a little patience (and maybe some cheese!) and he’ll be your friend in no time. Once comfortable, Skippy loves exploring the yard, curling up on the couch with his people, and simply being near his foster family. He’s house-trained and doing well with crate training. He happily sleeps in his crate at night in his foster’s bedroom and is still learning that being left alone isn’t so scary. He’s making great progress and just needs someone willing to continue building his confidence.
Skippy is wonderful with other dogs, cats, and kids, although because of his sensitive nature, he’d do best in a calm home with older, gentle children. A confident, sweet dog around his size could be a wonderful companion for him and help show him that the world is a safe place, but he’d also be perfectly happy soaking up love from his humans.
Skippy is truly a little doll. He has such a gentle, trusting nature and is proving every day that, with a little patience and kindness, he can blossom beautifully. He deserves a forever family who will cherish him, keep him safe, and give him the peaceful home he’s been waiting for.
Skippy is up to date on vaccines and will be neutered through our organization soon. His neuter will not delay his adoption process, so he’s ready to start looking for his forever family!
